Club Night 24/10/18

October 25, 2018

Welcome to the blog. Another relaxed evening with plenty of good music to be had.

The graveyard slot was mine and I knocked out a Dylan song 'If Not for You'

Paul was next and had another theme set and tonight it was Babara Streisand. 'My colouring Book' was the first followed by 'What are you doing for the rest of the year?' and 'The way we were' Good set Paul.

Electric Graham was next with a Stones favourite 'Angie' followed by 'Turn back the Clock. Sorry Graham I missed the title of your last song.

Aidan plus a dodgy throat and minus Vicky played a couple of jigs called The Rights of Man'/Pigeons at the gate. I then jumped up next to Aidan and we played 'Swallowtails/Dingle Regatta. Really good fun to play.

Silver Fox was next and of course we were treated by a bit of our Ralph with one of his early songs 'Naomi'. We then had 'Empty Chairs' and I'm sorry'.

GT was next up to the plate 'with Whackadoo Whackaday which I havn't heard for years followed by "99 miles from LA" ,then the beautiful 'Killing me Softly". An eclectic mix of songs me thinks. Nice one.

Sunrise were in full solar power tonight and slipped into (after finding Bryn's glasses)'Sound of Silence'. 'Path of a dream' and 'Nicky Blue'

Stefan also had a good mix of songs with 'Ballad of Jed Clampett', a very mournful 'Six O'Clock News followed by the cheeky 'Gnome Song.

Geoff was next under the lights and gave us 'Lucky old Sun' 'By the time I get to Phoenix' and 'Maybe the rain must fall. All sang in Geoff's inimitiable style.

The Bard of Beddington treated us to the sad and humorous side of life. with a song about a woman who was fifty, an old book and a song that advised us never to take a Walrus as a pet. What a mix !!

Diamond Neil was with us and gave us the spooky 'Riders in the Sky' with plenty of enthusiastic singing from the audience, Devil Woman was next, followed by the the ultimate  joiner inner song 'Daydream Believer'

Pluto Swint's Rubber Band were in full swing and a stage full to boot. They gave us 'Green Door' 'Rose of Cimarron' a particular favourite of mine' a bit of Eagles with 'Take it to the limit' and finished up with 'Digging up the Bones. Good full on sound from the band.

We had time to give a few more people  another song and the evening ended.
