Club night 11th June 14

June 16, 2014

A warm evening at Lime Meadow!!

What a good night. Plenty of quality music:

Our resident duo Neil and Steve kicked us off with tight guitars and harmonies. The bar was set and this is what followed in no particular order.

Les: Picked a mean guitar this evening with well chosen songs and the refreshing jangle of DADGAD tuning. He's also a Palace fan what more could you want !

Tony: Treated us to fine songs sung in rich warm tones with excellent delivery.

Jim: Another quality guitar picker. He  entertained with great aplomb, with well chosen songs with wit included.

Electric Geoff: Our resident electric axe man took us back with a silky delivery of The Shadows, Carlos Santana and Fleetwood Mac. Sympathetically supported by our resident guitar supremo, Slow Hand Louks.

Aiden and Vicky:

A father and daughter duo, now becoming regulars to the club. They gave us the traditional angle by playing fine Irish reels on banjo, mandolin, Bodhran and the mellifluous voice of Vicky.

Ted, Anne and Steve: They travelled from the Change of Horses in the depths of Farnborough Village, where they a long standing Folk Club. They treated us to some special accordion, flute and guitar playing and some powerful  songs. We hope they will return again soon. They put the K in Quality.

Don: Don entertained us in his own inimitiable style. Good songs, plenty of impish banter and stories from the good old days of music

Finale. A number of musicians got up and sung a cracking version of Living Doll in the Young Ones style as a tribute to the sad demise of Rik Mayall.
